Prayer: Promises that guide us

Prayer: Promises that guide

We are often frightened by new paths and only obey God when He explains every detail of what lies ahead to us. But most of the time, He won’t tell us where. He will just show us what we should do now, and as we obey, new paths will take shape in front of us.

Today I want to pray for this so that we trust when there is light to see each step, but also (and even more) when everything is dark and abstract.

You don’t need to pray exactly as I’m going to say here. I know that everyone has their way of talking to the Father, and it is important that we individually seek intimacy with Him. Therefore, feel comfortable talking to the Lord in your own way. But if you want, I will be happy to accompany you in this prayer.

Prayer

“Dear God, in this moment of reflection and prayer, I open my heart to You.

Help me recognize Your greatness and faithfulness more and more each day, placing complete trust in You. I don’t need to know the entire path, nor do I want to rely on my understanding of each step to be able to walk. I simply want to obey You.

Trusting You is finding peace amid the storms of life, knowing that Your faithfulness is unshakable and that Your promises will never fail.

In the face of challenges, teach me to anchor my trust in Your word. Light up my steps so that, even in the dark, without knowing where I am going exactly, I can, above all, trust in the light of Your presence and follow it without fear.

May the certainty that You are a God of love and mercy guide me, strengthening my faith and filling my heart with hope. In moments of uncertainty, I want to recall these promises and focus solely on Your voice.

Father, I desire not just to obey You when I comprehend the steps and the path. I want to walk in complete trust in You, understanding that Your plans surpass mine. Therefore, I don’t want to fear the unknown, and I refuse to be enslaved by what I already know, hesitating to move forward.

You, Lord, are God and I choose to rest in that truth. Acknowledging Your sovereignty over everything, understanding that all is under Your control, my role is merely to fear, obey, and find rest in You.

In moments when Your voice seems silent, allow me to feel Your presence. Stand by my side and take complete control of my life. Guide me, even when I’m uncertain of the destination; my trust is in You.

I pray all of this in the name of Jesus. Amen!”
