Today I want to pray for the theme of the last theme presented here on the blog, we will pray that Jesus will exchange our burden for His, which as it is written in Matthew 11:28-30, is soft and light.
How often do we not fill ourselves with things to do and forget what we should really be doing for God’s honor and glory. Your work is an important area of your life, as well your family, church, friendship and so many others.
Well, today we will pray that in all these areas our Lord will show us how we should act. I leave here a passage especially for you today:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Remember that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I am going to leave it here, because each one of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak in your own way.
Prayer
Beloved God, I thank you for this day, for your love and care. I thank you, Jesus Christ, for setting me free and saving me, freeing me from all condemnation and the burden of my sin, so that today I can live quietly and with a light burden.
You know Lord, so many times life seems to get heavy, too intense, which brings us sadness, takes away our sleep, makes us restless, but I know it shouldn’t be like that. I want to live for You and for Your purposes because your burden is light and your judgment is soft. We waste so much time and energy on things that so often don’t relate to your calling to our lives. I don’t want to live like this anymore, so I ask you to exchange my burden for yours.
Help me to understand what the Lord wants from me and that I can, with the help of the Holy Spirit, also change my attitude towards people, empower me with the ability to say no, which is so necessary for a healthy life.
I surrender every area of my life to you my Master, for you are perfect in everything you do. My God, yours is the power, the glory and the honor forever. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray, give thanks and ask that my words may reach the Lord like a sweet perfume!
