Is your heart focused on what is eternal?

Is your heart focused on what is eternal?

In his heart man plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

We make many plans for the year ahead, but the best future we can hope for is in the Lord. We have a Father who wants to teach us to look at life from the perspective of eternity. In eternity we are already victorious with Christ, despite the trials we experience in the present life. At this end of the year I invite you to rest in the Lord’s care and to look at tomorrow as an opportunity to already begin to live God’s purposes and principles.

Store up for yourself treasures in heaven and not on this earth

Consecrate everything you do to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.

Proverbs 16:3

After all, when we sow our riches and time in the Kingdom of God, we are gathering treasures for eternity. So calm your heart and focus on what really matters, on what is eternal. And for this you can count on God’s grace and the empowerment that comes from the Holy Spirit, who is our friend, helper, comforter and the one who comforts us.
Submit all your wishes, plans and desires regarding the future to God’s will, for although He gives us the ability to dream, the right answer and direction comes from Him. As children, we know that everything He does has a purpose, including our creation, so don’t forget that you have special purposes to fulfill in your life.

Therefore, the best New Year you can live is in the center of God’s will. We are full, satisfied and fulfilled when we live the Father’s calling. He sees far beyond what we can see, so why not trust Him with everything you want to do and live? Rest in His care and direction. Too often we get tired and overwhelmed by putting too little trust in the Lord and trying to execute things without His answer.

A heart focused on the eternal has peace

Trust in the Lord and do good; then you will dwell on earth and enjoy security. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will fulfill the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act;

Psalms 37:3-5

Allow yourself to trust in the Lord, as we read in Psalm 37, He assures us in His Word that if we live wholesomely and with trust in Him, we will find security and prosperity. Your new year will be prosperous and secure in God’s presence, just surrender your path to the Lord.

Submit your life, your choices, your attitudes to Him and He promises you care, prosperity and help. Seek the Father’s presence with intensity and you will find the relief and refreshment you need in Him. And keep in mind: many times we suffer because we live far from the presence and the will of the Lord.

God bless you!
