Having a broken heart is fundamental and it means recognizing our own limitations so that God can work in us. In 2 Corinthians 12: 9 it is written: “And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, because my power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will be happy to glory in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me ”. It is through brokenness that our lives are transformed and we are shaped according to God’s plans.
Praying for a broken heart may not be such an easy task, but the Lord is with us to go through everything we need, as it is written in Psalm 34:18, that God is close to those with a broken heart, so I invite you to do this prayer of surrender with me.
Remembering that you do not need to repeat the prayer exactly as I am going to leave it here, as each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure, feel free to speak your way.
Beloved Father, I want to be closer to You, to Your infinite love and grace. I thank you for having given Your only son to die for me and because of that I have free access to You.
I ask forgiveness for my failures, words, thoughts and attitudes that displease You Lord. I pray that I can be more like Jesus every day, I want to have a regenerated, transformed and broken heart, because I know that only then will I be able to be closer to You and be sensitive to hear Your voice.
Search me, Lord and know my heart, I know that all my thoughts are known to You and I pray that You will also work in my mind, I ask that everything I say and think reflects Your grace.
My great Father, give me a heart like David’s, I want to serve You, use me for Your work, may I be like a vase in the potter’s hands for You. I ask that my heart and spirit always carry Your truth, the joy and the peace that comes from above.
I am grateful because I know you are already working on me and every day I will seek to improve myself more in Your word. Once again I ask my heart to break!
It is in the name of Jesus that I pray and ask that my words reach You like a gentle perfume!
Prayer of a mere servant of God
Who of you wants to love life and wants to see happy days? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from falsehood. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace with perseverance. The Lord’s eyes turn to the righteous and his ears are attentive to his cry for help; the face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil, to erase their memory from the earth. The righteous cry out, the Lord hears them and delivers them from all their tribulations. The Lord is close to those who have a broken heart and saves those with a broken spirit. The righteous goes through many adversities, but the Lord delivers him from all;
