How great is the grace of salvation, isn’t it? Think with me, sin has put us in a prison, locked behind bars, guilt, shame, deceit and fear. So sin has done nothing but chain us to a wall of unhappiness. But Jesus came and bail us out, being punished in our place, so we are set free.
Christ died for us and when we gave our lives to Him, we died for our old self. Many people think of this as a burden, but in fact it is a great deliverance. Salvation does not imprison you but liberates you, in Christ we are truly free to find our identity as children of God and have the mercy of his divine forgiveness.
New garments
Once talking to a friend, he used a very good analogy to talk about repentance and forgiveness. Let’s think about purity as represented by a white suit, you went out to perform your daily tasks, and then it gets dirty, at the end of the day it’s not whiter as when you left.
So, you come home you put her to wash and soon she is clean, free of any brand. So is repentance and forgiveness, when we repent of our sins, we are free of that dirt. In Isaiah 43:25, it is written that Jesus erases our transgressions out of love and no longer remembers our mistakes.
Salvation is a new garment, which does not represent that you will no longer fail, but that you recognize that you are a sinner and that only in Christ can you be truly redeemed of your sins.
The voice of the enemy X the voice of God
Many people, even after receiving salvation, still cannot get rid of the guilt of their sins, even after repenting and asking for forgiveness. This is because the father of lies wants you to feel ashamed, because shame takes us away from God, just as Adam and Eve hid themselves when they realized they were naked.
That is why it is so important to know how to differentiate the voice from the enemy and the voice from God, that is why I would like to remind you that our God does not accuse us. We serve a peaceful God and everything that brings trouble does not come from Him, that does not mean that he will pass the hand on our head, but that his forgiveness is final.
Conclusion
Jesus gave his only son so that you and I would not perish but have eternal life, for he has mercy and loves us as a father. So I would like to tell you that if you already have Christ and still carry a great feeling of guilt, take some time to talk with God ask for forgiveness in real repentance and be sure that you were forgiven, you were called to freedom.
And if you still don’t have Christ as your only savior and are afraid to make that decision and lose your freedom, remember that in Christ we are truly free from death and condemnation, in Him, we find peace that we so often seek in things that only bring evil.
You don’t need to be perfect, and you never will be, but Jesus carried his burden on the Cross out of love, even knowing your faults and mine. Come to Him and let Him do the work in your life.
God bless you!
