Don’t chase the wind

Don’t chase the wind

Life goes by so fast. Places are renovated, addresses change, people come and go; We are often forced to say goodbye. At other times, it is necessary to choose wisely who to say “hello” to and who to say “goodbye” to, no matter how much it hurts.

Growing up hurts, but it teaches us and matures us. It prepares us for things much greater than anything we dream or plan.

Life does not stop

“When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.”

Ecclesiastes 7:14

My favorite quote has always been that of Saint Teresa of Ávila: “It is fair that much costs what much is worth. To reach “tomorrow,” it is fair that it costs our “today.”

Some cycles can only begin when others close, when we understand that we need to leave behind what is behind, that life goes on above any situation.

The world does not stop as we need or want; each day has the same number of hours, and we need to act wisely in every minute.

Do not waste time. I know you’ve probably heard this a lot, and I’m saying it again. Everything goes by very quickly, and the most interesting (and sometimes scary) thing about this is that we never know when it ends; we are not sure where we will end up as we walk, no matter how much we plan each step.

Enjoy each day as if it were your last in that place, with those people, the feeling of that moment.

Focus

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Ephesians 5:15-16

I don’t know about you, but my biggest fear is being so distracted or caught up in something that I don’t see opportunities and blessings that God puts in front of me.

The enemy cannot touch you, so at all times, he will try to distract you and change your focus. He puts things in your path that he knows will catch your attention. So you waste time, and you don’t experience everything you have access to in God in the best way possible.

It’s at that moment when something gets in the way of reaching somewhere, meeting someone, learning something, and having experiences that would propel you to where God wants to take you.

Stay in prayer

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Romans 12:12

In the moment of joy, take advantage of every detail to rejoice with the people you love, go to places that are good for you, consume everything that builds you up.

In situations where pain is present, just allow yourself to feel it. Difficulty is our greatest teacher during our days. Pain reminds us where to look, who to look for, and where to follow.

Whether it’s one day or the next, pray. Don’t chase the wind, following uncertain things without direction from the Lord. Pray, listen, and live today. It’s only now that you can do something; yesterday is gone, and tomorrow hasn’t even arrived yet. Action, everything that can be done, experienced, or felt, is in the now.

If you feel it, say it. If you want, do it. If you dream, aim for it. But all within God’s will, taking advantage of every detail of everything He has given you.

You have a lot, and you will still have much more than all of this. Trust!
