Andrew was working with his brother when a stranger came up to him and said: I have a good job offer for you. In the segment where you already work, but earning more, much more!
Paul was lost on the road driving, when out of nowhere a “car” appeared with the light in his face saying: you are on the wrong road. I will guide you on how to get to your destination!
An IRS inspector was on the street in his hometown, when he was approached by a celebrity in the whole country, who was passing by and who told him that he would be a guest at his home.
You may have already realized of whom I’m talking about …
In these 3 situations, people were in their daily lives, when they were surprised with a Good News that literally saved their lives!
Jesus changed the life of Andrew, Peter, Paul, Zacchaeus… and continues to change the life of anyone He approaches. Always with Good News: The good news of the gospel!
You have been called to be a carrier of good news
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” – Romans 10:15
You can be that person who delivers good news to your friends. It could be a job offer, a right direction, an invitation to be with a celebrity (Jesus, but not from the top of a tree as Zacchaeus) Mt 4: 18-19, Ac 9: 3, Lk 19: 2- 5. It can also be a good memory you have of someone, a word of comfort or even a virtual hug!
You were chosen by God to be the carrier of good news, in the midst of a society in need of good news … Isn’t that wonderful?
Remember what brings hope
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. – Lamentations 3:21
Jeremiah said this at a time of national upheaval, the destruction of religious, economic and social values. In the fall of Judah as a nation and in exile to Babylon. Everything he saw as a present was not encouraging and the future looked bleak!
What does he decide to do then? Bring to mind what could give hope.
We may have no choice about the things we go through. But you are always in a position to choose what to think about. Jeremiah chose to use memory to his advantage. He chose to remember the things that could bring him hope.
Today is the day to tell people around you that they too have this choice! Be the carrier of Good News!
Grace and peace!
