We are approaching the end of September, but that does not mean that we should let our guard down in relation to our emotions and our psychological state. You deserve care.
Faced with this subject, I want to ask you a question…Do you know the difference between emotion and feeling?
The insecurity to feel
“If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.”
2 Corinthians 11:30
In common sense emotions and feelings are synonymous, but according to some scientists, emotions are automatic and unconscious behavioral responses, whereas feelings are characterized by being conscious experiences that add up to all these unconscious responses. That is, it is as if the feeling only exists because of several emotions together.
I brought this explanation so you don’t feel guilty anymore. When we feel, we think we are to blame for it. Some people may even consider this to be a lack of God. But we are in a human body, and we can go through many afflictions in the world, and that is not our fault. Feelings only become our fault when we don’t act against them and allow them to rule us.
Don’t listen to what’s transient
In Ephesians 4:26 it is written: “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry”
Do you realize that God himself does not invalidate you or blame you for what you feel? He just instructs you that no matter how much you feel (and it’s okay to feel), you shouldn’t give feeling the power to rule your life. And that goes for all feelings, good or bad.
This government I speak of is when we let ourselves be guided by our immediate reactions to circumstances. This power in our lives needs to be in the hands of God, not in what we feel, because our feelings can only respond to what is immediate, while what comes from the Father is Eternal.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18
Guided to Eternity
Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.
Psalm 43:3-4
Have you ever made a decision when you were very happy? Usually in these moments we end up accepting situations that later are not so good for us. Perhaps for the momentary euphoria.
Or have you already decided something when you were very sad? This is the time when we are pessimistic and we can miss things that would be amazing for us because of a fear or discouragement that later passes.
Letting our emotions rule and decide for us will never be a good choice. God is the only guide you need, He is the only Being who has the power to govern our lives in the best way. But He won’t hold the weight of something you haven’t cast at His feet.
Turn the knob!
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Psalm 43:3-4
He already died to bring you relief, but do you accept this sacrifice of love? The death of Christ is the key to the door between you and God. The door was locked, Jesus unlocked it, but turning the knob and entering this room of God’s presence is up to you.
Go through the door. You are already saved and you don’t have to worry, you can throw everything at His feet and trust with your eyes closed. Don’t feel alone!
