Do you want to do more for the Kingdom of God? Are you tired of being in a spiritual comfort zone?
If you are reading this text it is probably because the answer to the two questions above is “yes”. This is a good thing, because recognizing our mistakes in our life with Christ is the first and one of the most important steps to improve.
In today’s post, I’m going to talk a little bit about how we can be more present in Kingdom activities and how we can help on the edification of the Church of Christ.
Spiritual Sloth
According to the dictionary, laziness can be interpreted as aversion to work or even negligence. It is the lack of willingness to perform a certain task. Something that leads us to do things as if we did not care and not do our best.
“Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth.
He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son”
If laziness is not overcome, it will affect all areas of our lives, including work, studies, family and especially spiritual life.
Proverbs 10: 4-5
By affecting our spiritual life, laziness will take us further and further from what God expects of us. As followers of Christ, we must do everything in our lives with excellence and do our best.
The Holy Spirit brings us boldness and takes us out of the comfort zone. We must transform ourselves daily through the renewal of our minds (Romans 12: 2), understand the need to serve, help and be willing to do God’s will.
Knowing this, let’s go to the tips.
1 – Serve
As christians, we need to understand that is necessary to serve. Christ was the best example of this: He was the one who should be placed in the highest office and should be served by everyone around him, but he decided, out of love, to put himself below the servants and serve those who needed help.
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Romans 12:11
Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:26-28
If you are already in a ministry within your local church, try to find ways to be more present, give suggestions, analyze what needs to change and help to change.
If you are not engaged in any ministry in your church or even not in any church, pray for God to show you which one is the best area for you to serve and where the Lord wants to take you.
Engage yourself and don’t let laziness get in the way of your service to God.
2 – Read the Bible
We all know that the Bible is God’s revelation, His words. The Bible must be our guide and manual. We must meditate on it all the time and keep in our hearts what is written.
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Joshua 1: 8
There is no life with God without reading and meditating on the Word of God. We must engage in reading and deepen biblical knowledge, so that we can understand more about the character of God and we can show the light of Christ in this world.
If you have difficulty, ask your pastors and leaders for help. Read the Bible with your friends, family and brother/sister in Christ. If you don’t already have the habit of reading the Bible, create it because it is essential. You can also read the text 4 tips to be able to read the Bible every day.
3 – Fasting and Prayer
There are several passages in the Bible that tell us about fasting and prayer and show us how important they are and that both MUST be present in our Christian life.
“So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
Acts 13: 3
Not only does God call us into a life of communion with our brothers and sisters, but He also calls us to an individual relationship with Him.
We must fast so that our flesh is weakened and the Holy Spirit is strengthened within us. And prayer must be present, daily, in our lives to understand where God wants to take us and what He wants us to do.
Grace and peace.

Thank you
The tips are very helpful ❤️ God bless
Thanks.
Leo, brother, everything you said is true, except for one: “We must transform ourselves daily through the renewal of our minds. . .”. We do not possess the ability to transform ourselves; only God has that power. As the holy scripture says: “. . . be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. . .”. As you can see, it says nothing of transforming ourselves, but to be transformed BY the renewing of our minds, which only God has the power and authority to do so. All we can do is make the right choices according to the will of God that will bring us to a place where we can let Him renew our minds.
What are those choices? Romans 12:1 tells us “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY, ACCEPTABLE UNTO GOD, which is your reasonable service.” We all ought to CHOOSE every day to present our bodies to the LORD as living sacrifice early in the morning BEFORE we talk to anyone else. Even our wives or husbands, if you are married.
How do we get to that place? By coming to the altar DAILY. Not only in the morning, but after breakfast, shortly before lunch, on the way home, or even all throughout the day, as we are tempted and tried at every moment, every hour, every minute, every second, every instant. None of us knows exactly how many times we fall in an hour, let alone one day, because we all have known and unknown sins. Which is why it is so absolutely and extremely vital to come to the altar twenty, fifty, or even a thousand times a day. Why? So we can stay in the will and protection of the one true God, who is our hope and stay, and our only TRUE safety.
May God’s love, peace, and blessings be poured out onto whoever reads this. Keep strong in your faith in the LORD dear brothers and sisters, keep growing by and for Him, and don’t give up or give in to the enemy! How? James 4:7 says it so beautifully and perfectly “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.”
God bless, everyone!!

I agree spiritual laziness is a set up for the enemy to seek out whom to devour, because he already knows who is unarmed with the word of God as our weapon, working on myself daily with the help of the Holy Spirit in all areas of my life.
Tanks for the 3Tips,…that’s it’s very important to learn about biblical studies,Amém.

Good morning thanks Iwill take on board God will guide me through Amen
Thank you so much for this blog, I really needed this. 😊. I use to doubt the power of fasting and prayer, but when I got used to it , I started to believe. It not like God will do everything we ask Him to do exactly after fasting but He always gives us strength to stand in any situation. According to my experience, during and after fasting I feel so justified and have absolutely nothing bothering me. I too highly recommended Fasting to each and every Christian out there. Thank you. With Love from South Africa
I am curious, how are you fasting?
What and for how long are you fasting from?
This is a very good teaching and it can open someone’s eyes and minds , especially when it comes to fasting and it’s importance .
