You must bear fruit

You must bear fruit

As Christians, the greatest mission that Jesus left us is very clear:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20

As we are called the Bride of Christ, we must BEGET spiritual children for the Kingdom of God.

The Fiance

I once heard a preacher saying the following phrase: “The Lord says He is not barren, but the bride has not entered the secret room.” Honestly, this sentence was something extremely striking in my walk with Jesus.

Many times we stop bearing and we think that the Lord has stopped giving us the fruits, but that only happens because we don’t relate to the Bridegroom.

We have such superficial relationships in our daily lives that we think this will be enough for the Lord, but it is not. We have to relate to Him daily. How can we be intimate with someone we don’t talk to? Or do we even know? Our relationship with the Father has to be based on this search to pray and meditate on His Word.

The branches

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:4-5

We are the branches, how shall we bear the fruit if we are not in Him?

Jesus Himself says in verse 5: “…apart from me you can do nothing.” He doesn’t need us, even though we desperately need Him. Nothing that we will do alone will compare to what we are able to do with Him, so why do we insist on being like fruitless branches or like branches that are no longer connected to the Vine?

What have you generated?

To conclude, I leave the following question: what have you generated? Have you been concerned in your days with generating spiritual children and fruits for the Kingdom? Have you gone into the room, closed the door and talked to Him? Have you had quality time with God?

This is the time for you to question yourself and reflect on it, on what fruits you have generated. May that day this reflection really change something in your way of relating to the Father.

God bless you,

Ana.
