What do you need for a successful 2022?

What do you need for a successful 2022?

So many times we put the responsibility for a better year on external factors such as: the economy needs to improve, the pandemic needs to end, they need to give me a promotion at work. But the truth is that having a better year is just up to us. Of our constancy and perseverance in our relationship with God.

With HIM even the most difficult situations in life work together for our good. With Him we understand when we need to change direction. With Him we are more and more perfected and transformed. Only He can work miracles. Therefore, the secret to a successful 2022 is how much we will prioritize our life with God.

Constancy to make a difference

On any project you participate in, you can see many people coming in with lots of dreams and high expectations, super excited but quickly giving up and abandoning the boat. Dreams, goals and purposes without paying the price of constancy are unlikely to materialize.

In God’s Word we can see that relevant people were able to persevere. Daniel in Babylon was called by King Darius to be one of the 3 trustees who would oversee the kingdom’s provinces, something great and likely sought after by many. At that time Daniel was between 80 and 85 years old and had led an exemplary life in Babylon. The Bible describes him as “loyal, always responsible and trustworthy” (Dan. 6:4). Building a reputation like this takes work and consistency. In life with God he also had exemplary discipline: “he prayed three times a day and gave thanks to God.”

The apostle Paul, when he knew that he was nearing the end of his life, wrote in his letter to Timothy: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim. 4: 7). A ministry that left such a strong legacy to the Church of Christ required endurance, sacrifice, and permanence. After all, it is not possible to complete a race without the effort of preparing and covering the entire circuit.

You can count on the Encourager

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. – John 14:16

We know that being constant is not easy. However, if you are a follower of Jesus, you are privileged! Anyone who chooses to follow Christ receives the Holy Ghost to encourage, instruct, and strengthen him. Jesus claimed with the Father the One who is the Encourager, Helper and Comforter to be with us forever. You are never alone in your journey towards God’s purpose and call for your life.

The first step in changing your next year is to invite the Holy Spirit to be your friend and be present in every day and every moment of your life. Recently I have learned so much about the Holy Spirit. Seek to understand who He is, seek to relate to Him. Ask for His help.

When thinking about giving up or over the next year it’s hard to stay steadfast, remember to turn to the Holy Spirit of God. He is the one who intercedes for us and helps us. That reminds us of the truth of God’s Word and that reveals to us the Father’s will. He will help you to finish the race.

To conclude

The constancy in your secret will lead you to live the extraordinary thing that God has for you. Put your time with the Holy Spirit above all else. There are situations in which we are limited and we can only solve them through the Father’s supernatural action in us.

Grace and peace!
