Our life is made of choices. Every day we need to decide from small details to important steps that we should take: what I’m going to eat, the combination of clothes I’m going to wear, whether or not to change jobs, the date of my wedding, etc.
Every moment is filled with choices we must make. However, we often don’t understand the value of it and the weight it has in our lives.
Commit every choice to the Lord
There are several types of choices that we have to make in our daily lives. We often define as less spiritual choices such as: where will I work, what college will I go to, where will I live and so many others.
These decisions, although they do not seem to have a direct connection with our spiritual life, need God’s participation. When we choose to walk with Jesus, we understand that everything we do has a purpose and must to be committed to the Lord.
As it is written in Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
The best thing to do, in a moment of choice like those mentioned, is to ask the Father for guidance, because He will guide us according to His sovereign and perfect will, that is, He will guide us to the best decision.
Choosing the Father’s Will
We make decisions all the time, including some that directly relate to our spiritual health: to obey or not to obey, to follow a call or not, to love the Lord with all our heart, to deny or not to deny Him, to take up our cross and follow Him.
The real question is: what choice have we made? Have our days been based on choosing according to the will of the Lord or simply making our choices according to our own will?
Conclusion
Today I invite you to pray with me on this topic: CHOICES.
Remembering that you don’t have to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way.
“Dear God and Father, I begin by thanking you for our lives, our days, I also thank you for the freedom that you give us and for the privilege we have of being able to choose to walk with you. Thank you because you want to reveal to us your good and perfect will.
Lord, I would like to ask You to help us make choices that please You, that is, right choices in all areas of our lives: professional, relational, ministerial, among others.
It is so hard, Father, but help us to obey You, to follow Your call, not to deny Your Name, to carry our cross, but above all, to love You with all of our hearts.
In Jesus name, amen.”
Grace and peace,
Ana.
