LORD, give me a new spirit

LORD, give me a new spirit

Sometimes there are situations that repeat themselves and don’t seem to change. Or else something we’ve been hoping for a lot doesn’t happen. Anyway, there are so many factors that can discourage us. However, we who hope in the Lord have an inexhaustible source of strength and hope.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:30-31

Let’s pray together surrendering everything that has been going on in our minds and hearts to God. Remembering that you don’t need to repeat the prayer exactly as I’m going to leave it here, because each of us has a specific way of communicating with the Lord. But if you want to accompany me, it will be a pleasure. Feel free to speak your own way.

PRAYER

Dear God, I want to begin this prayer by giving thanks for Your Word that brings us words of comfort and consolation. Thank you for your mercy that is renewed and that accepts my prayer even when I would never be worthy to come to you.

Father, sometimes it feels like we lack the strength to even begin a prayer. But Lord, we want to surrender before You everything that has tired us: whether it’s a situation, a frustrated dream, an effort that doesn’t seem to bear fruit, an illness, a relationship, an emotional disturbance, fear. We submit everything to You, knowing that You alone can bring us true rest. Even if what we most desire came true, without your presence we would never have true peace and joy.

We know that the rest the Lord gives us is supernatural. Therefore, Father, pour out on each child who prays with me now a rest that comes from heaven. Fill and touch each one in a special way this time. May we understand that the breath we need to face any trial or difficulty is in You. Teach us to put our hope only in the Lord. Blow upon every home, upon every downcast soul, bringing refreshment.

As it is written in Psalm 73:26, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” We make this Psalm a truth in our hearts, recognizing Your Sovereignty over everything and that it is on the Lord that we depend. Allow us to feel Your presence, for when we experience Your Holy Spirit we are transformed. Transform our mindset, Holy Spirit. Give us a wisdom that overcomes human limitations. May we see situations as God our Father sees. May we be wise to fight our wars with the correct weapons that come from God, because if we keep fighting in our own way, our strength will be exhausted.

Help us, Lord! And forgiveness for so many times we seek strength and courage in wrong places and things.

It is in the precious name of Jesus that we pray and thank you for every grace received. Amen!
