These times I heard a song that had the following phrase “And if my voice fails, You sing for me”. That single sentence, repeated only once, in a song lasting almost 7 minutes spoke to me a lot.
Then I found out that the singer had gone through a surgery on her vocal cords and, even after the surgery, she would be unable to sing. During that time she wrote this song and added this line to the lyrics.
Today she is fine and is singing again. It was a miracle from God in her life. Still, it wasn’t her story that spoke to me, but the snippet of the song.
If you fail, do you continue?
Think about what you do. Do you preach? Play? Sing? Teach? If something happens and you can’t do it anymore, what will it be like? What really motivates you to keep going?
That’s exactly what God spoke to me. In my church I work in communication, recording, editing and writing, just like I do here on Bible Offline team.
And the Lord asked me why I keep doing these things and that got me thinking. I write, record, edit, take pictures, but simply because I like it? Or to reflect the Glory of God?
Then, I clearly felt God saying, “It’s not you.” It was never me, because sometimes I didn’t even know how I had done certain things. It was always Him.
So I ask you, if something goes wrong, what do you do? If you fail, do you turn it over to God and let Him do it for you?
Surrendering
We always end up coming back to the same word: SURRENDER. Make this surrender, accept that if you fail, God does it, and even if it doesn’t go wrong, it’s still Him.
Today I invite you to pray by making a commitment, showing that no matter what happens, God remains the main thing in everything you do.
Remembering that you don’t need to pray the same way as I’m going to leave here, after all, each one has their own way of talking to our God, but if you want, I’ll be happy to accompany you.
“Lord, my God and Father, we thank you for this day, for this breath of life.
Father, today I want to give you my gifts and talents. Sometimes I act as if I did and as if it were my merit, but the honor and glory are completely yours.
If I fail, if my voice stops, if I can no longer do what I do, do it for me, because it was never me, but it was always You.
Thank you for continuing to love me despite me and for continuing to use me even though I don’t deserve it.
My life is yours, you can continue to use me for the honor and glory of your name.
I love You, and I pray to You, in the name of Jesus
