Have you turned the key?

Have you turned the key?

It is true that God opens doors and paths. But we are so preoccupied with His opening that we forget the importance of the passing action. It is necessary and essential that we trust in God’s work, but we also need to remember certain steps that depend on us.

We must move

Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

Doors separate places. To access one place, we need to leave another. For example, you live in a condominium where there is a guardhouse with a doorman controlling entry and exit. If you need to leave the house, you’ll need to go through the gate.

Even if the doorman opens it for you, is it any good if you just stand there and not move? We can’t just watch!

God opens doors, but the choice to go there and enjoy what’s on the other side is completely yours because the Lord gave you freedom of choice. He can only guide you on a path if you want to walk towards it. God will not force you.

Trust comes from knowing

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9:10

Between the door opening and me going through it, there is an action that comes from me and my confidence in this new place and in who guides me.

If a stranger asks you to go through a door, but the room on the other side is dark and you can’t see anything inside, you wouldn’t go in, would you?

In order to access new places, we need to know God, because this generates confidence in our heart to walk where He leads us. Perhaps our lack of trust in God and his promises is linked to the fact that we don’t really and deeply know Him. Have you thought about it?

Take a stand!

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

John 12:26

Your action of going to Him will never be for nothing. Remember that action is not the event itself, but it is the necessary and essential decision-making that makes it possible to reach where He is calling you. The Lord doesn’t want to take you to the abyss, you need to trust and move.

Going towards Jesus will never be uncertain, He will always lead us to The promise.
