God says in the bible that whatever I ask in faith will be given to me. So why have I been asking with all my strength and He won’t give it to me? Does he not hear me?
This has happened to everyone at least once. Praying and waiting on God, but not receiving what was asked, thinking that the Lord is not listening to us. But that’s not true.
On the opposite way
“Before they call I will answer. While they are still speaking I will hear”
Isaiah 65:24
The Father always hears us, His ears will always be turned towards the children. And even stronger than that, the heart of God hears our insides before we even speak. In all your prayers He was always by your side listening to every word. But He will not give you what is not linked to what He dreams for your life.
God has a plan for every person even before birth. All life has a purpose, because He doesn’t do anything “just in case”, every detail has already been dreamed up. And our prayer may not be aligned with this desire of the Father, which makes us think that He closed his ears to our cry.
Many times we are only asking for the opposite way to His.
The word details
But then, why does God say in Matthew 21 that whatever I ask in faith I will receive?
Everything in the bible is connected, so the importance of knowing every detail of His word. A single verse doesn’t say much about who He really is, the context does. If we approach a stranger and ask him something, the short answer to a certain question does not make him our friend, some conversations and stories that we hear afterwards are what begin to structure a relationship.
The word does not just say that if we pray for something we will receive it. It also says that we must have a relationship with God, receive His direction, and trust His plans for us.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us”
1 John 5:14
It is by aligning our desire with the Father’s that we pray and receive.
And that’s why…
Sometimes we pray for God to leave us in places He wants to take us out of. We ask Him to open paths that He does not want for us, to open doors that need to be closed so that better ones can open. It was never about asking Him to do it later. But understanding what He wants for us, and then asking for it. Aligned with His dreams.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you”
John 15:7
If His words remain in us and our life is based on Him, what we want to ask for is already linked to what He wants for our lives.
If we know all the truths that He leaves in the scriptures and live them, if our spirit always seeks to be connected to the Father’s, what we ask for has already been planted by Him, it already comes from Him.
That’s why we need to seek Him first
That’s why the first Beatitude in Matthew 5 is for the humble, who empty themselves of their desires and ideals
That’s why we need to first delight ourselves in the Father for Him to answer our desires
Because when His heart beats within us, our desire is already His, and then we will receive more than one day we imagine, because it is what He already imagined.
He will first act within us, so that later we can see it happen before our eyes.
It is a dynamic of agreement between your spirit and that of the Father.
