I have told you a few times about a part of the testimony of my conversion. As many of you know, I was born and raised in an evangelical church, and I got out of the way when I was about eighteen.
I gave myself to God some time later. With this, I began to live Christianity in such a way that, looking back, I saw how eighteen years inside the church I was completely empty and meaningless.
In fact, I’m sure that’s why I gave up living a life with God. The truth is that even years in the church, I still had no idea who my Lord was.
Are we really being Christians?
In this new stage of my life, trying to live with Jesus with all my heart, I began to realize that not all who call themselves Christians have lived in a way that this “title” requires living. Far from me wanting to judge or say that someone is wrong. I do not have that power and I do not want to have it. My intention is to lead you to a reflection on your own lives. About how is your practice of Christianity based on what I have lived.
Everywhere I nail some message. And for almost every person I talk to every day. I say how we should look at our way of living in order to be in line with the Father’s will. Only in this way is it possible to experience God’s so-called “good, perfect and pleasing will” to us.
1 Peter 1:15 “But as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all that you do.”
My intention with this text is not just to say that each one sanctify himself even more. That we must purify ourselves daily, we already know and hit this same key several times.
Do not live a shallow Christianity
I say to all the brethren to not live a shallow Christianity. Where the principle is religiosity and not love. I am irritated to see how some believe they should only be “good citizens” and go to church once a week to “be accepted” by God. Or that they treat the Lord as a steward who must meet their personal and social needs.
God should not give you a new job or a comfortable life for you. He may well do so because he loves us above our understanding. But over all things, He is still God, sovereign. As for us, we decide whether we are servants or not.
Who is the one who decides to be “half-servant”? And what servant has the right to not do what his lord commands him to do? That is why I say: seek God in a deep and intense way. Strive to avoid the evil of the world and at the same time to dedicate themselves to prayer, reading the Word and reflecting on it. It is impossible to try to know God without hearing His voice and creating relationship through the Bible.
Be steady on the rock
A strong tree can hardly be cut off. While one that is hollow inside, has no resistance. So it falls with few blows from someone who is trying to cut it.
Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me” Lord, Lord, “and do not do what I say? (47) I will show you to everyone who comes to me, listen to my words and (48) This is like a man who built a house when he dug, and opened a deep ditch, and laid the foundation upon the rock: and when the flood came, the waters beat against that house, and could not shake it: (49) But he that heareth, and doeseth not, is like unto a man that buildeth a house upon the earth, without foundation, and when the waters hath beaten against it, then it collapsed: and it came to pass that great was the ruin of that house. “
